Skiing

The last day of Christmas break, we took the kids- all of them, skiing. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. Kasey and I were both very spoiled living in Utah, where you only have to drive 15-20 min to get to the mountain. Here it is a good 2 hour drive (if there is no traffic). It was a very small resort, so it was easy to keep track of the kids, Jack spent the day skiing with a friend and would check in with us every once and a while. Kasey took turns helping Lily and Taylor. They both did great for their first time. Neither of them could get enough, they both kept asking for just one more run. I hung out in the lodge with Lucy, but was lucky enough to take a few runs myself. It has been a good 7 or 8 years since I have been- so I was a little rusty and pretty reserved- but it was tons of fun.

That is so fun! I didn't know there were any ski hills anywhere in Oregon. I guess you'll have to move to Utah so your kids can go skiing more. :) Tell Kasey congrats on the new calling!

You are so brave to take 4 little ones skiing! You're such a good mom, your kids will remember times like those forever. Lucy is so cute!

That is neat that ALL of your kids enjoyed skiing. My daughter went to ski school last winter when she was 3 and only would wear one ski the whole time... I'm gonna try and take her up this year. My son took some lessons and loves it now.
That is great that Betsy got to come and visit you for the holidays. How is she doing? I haven't seen her for the longest time.
As for Ricky Shroeder (however you spell it). Who didn't have a crush on him in Silver Spoons? He actually is mormon. For some reason they spend their holidays in Heber Valley. Maybe it is for the skiing - I'm not sure but they've been around for the last like 3 or 4 years during the holidays. He is good friends with Bart Johnson who is friends with my brother Gary so there is part of the connection. Also his teenage sons hang out with my sisters daughters and their friends when they are in town.
It was kind of sureal to have him there talking shop with my husband at the party.
Anyway your baby girl is adorable and I like her cute hat. Your other kids are adorable too but there wasn't much of a chance for them not to be with the parents they have. :)
